This is where it started: Fruita Swipe, the fruit-connecting puzzle from Famobi. There is no swapping and no dropping. Instead you draw a line with your finger or the mouse through fruits of the same type, and when the chain has three or more, they are cleared.
The longer your chain, the higher the score, and long chains also create special power-ups. But the score is only half of the story, because each level gives a task that must be completed. Do the task first and the points second. Clear blockers early so that they do not trap the fruit you need. It is a fast pattern-recognition game for a short break, and if you want to see how the series continues, play Fruita Swipe 2. Another good match game: Bejeweled 3.
