A little creature called Om Nom sits with his mouth wide open, and a piece of candy hangs above him on one or more ropes. In Cut The Rope your only tool is the cut itself: sever the right rope at the right moment and the sweet falls, swings or drifts toward him. Get it wrong and the candy ends up anywhere but his mouth.
Stages keep adding new mechanics and obstacles. Sometimes the candy swings like a pendulum and has to be released at just the right point of the arc; elsewhere it gets trapped in a bubble and floats upward instead of dropping. Because both order and timing count, it pays to watch a level for a second before making the first cut. The tone stays light and goofy, so kids and adults can share it.
