In 2007 Swords and Sandals 2: Emperor’s Reign arrived as the sequel to one of the best-known gladiator games on the web. The premise is blunt: you have only one option if you want to survive, and that is to beat every opponent the arena throws at you.
Before the first fight you build your own gladiator and decide how to spend his skill points. After that you work your way up through the matches. The fights themselves are turn by turn, where you pick your attacks and defenses and keep an eye on your energy. Winnings can be spent in the shops on better armor and weapons.
Keep your points balanced and upgrade your armor as often as your weapons. It starts at the main menu with “play”, “how to” and “credits”, and you only need the mouse. Plants vs Zombies mixes tactics and humor in much the same way.
