Released as a freeware game in 2001, Icy Tower turned into a cult hit with almost no story at all. You control Harold the Homeboy as he jumps from floor to floor while the screen scrolls upward and keeps getting faster. Fall off the bottom and the run is over.
Use the arrow keys to run and the space bar to jump. The faster Harold runs before a jump, the higher he flies. Bounce off the walls at the right moment and he picks up even more speed. String together double and triple jumps, skipping several floors at once, and the combo mode starts counting extra points.
There is no end, only a score. That is the whole charm: the “one more try” feeling never fades. Geometry Lite asks for similarly quick reactions.
