Capcom released Street Fighter II: Champion Edition in 1992, a year after the original Street Fighter II, and fighting-game fans still argue it is the best of the early versions. For the first time you could pick the four bosses (Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison) and fight a mirror match with the same character on both sides. The speed and balance were also adjusted, and many players of the time never went back to the older version.
Each match is a duel between two fighters, and you have to win two rounds. Whoever empties the other’s health bar first takes the round. Ryu, Ken, E. Honda, Vega and the rest all have their own special moves, usually a joystick motion plus a button. The famous fireball is down, down-forward, forward plus punch.
The game runs in your browser. A good first goal is to learn one special move with one character. Once the fireball comes out reliably, Bleach Vs Naruto offers a very different take on fighting games.
